Privacy Policy

We only collect what we genuinely need to run a fair, secure competition and pay out prizes. That includes:

• Identity & registration details — your name, email address, and, optionally, your phone number. Phone is not required to register, but it helps us reach you about your results or a prize.
• Eligibility information — your stage (for the Senior formats — undergraduate students to anyone up to age 30) or your grade (for the Junior formats, Class 8–12), and your country or region. We use this to confirm you are eligible for the format you chose.
• Parent or guardian details, where the participant is under 18 — the full name and email address of the parent or legal guardian who gives consent, along with the wording they accepted, the format, and the date and time. We ask for this only for a Junior format, or where a date of birth shows the participant is under 18. We use it to record the consent and to contact the guardian about that registration if we need to. We never use it for marketing.
• Payment information — the registration fee you paid, the format and pricing window, the currency, and a transaction reference. Payments are processed entirely by our payment partners (Razorpay for registrations from India, on any format; PayPal for registrations from anywhere else). We do not collect or store your full card number, CVV, UPI PIN, or bank login. Those are handled directly by the processor on their own secure systems.
• Bank details for withdrawals — your Koins or Sikka sit in your Kashflow account. If you later ask us to send part of that balance to your bank, we will ask for the details needed to make that payment: a PayPal account or international bank details outside India, or bank details (for NEFT/IMPS) in India. We collect these only when you place a withdrawal request.
• Quiz activity — your answers to the 100 multiple-choice questions, your score, your completion time, your final rank, and your digital certificate record.
• Fair-play signals — while your question paper is open, the quiz page records fair-play events such as leaving the quiz tab or exiting full screen, together with answer timing. We do not use your camera or microphone, and we do not record your screen — monitoring is limited to activity inside the quiz page itself. These signals protect the fairness of the prize pool for every honest participant; how they are acted on is set out in the Fair Play Policy and under How we use your information below.
• Device & usage data — basic technical information such as your browser type, device type, approximate location derived from your IP address, and pages you visited. This helps us keep the site secure and working.
• Support communications — the content of emails or messages you send us at quiz@skollar.club, so we can help you.

We do not ask for sensitive categories of data such as caste, religion, health, or biometric identifiers, and you should not send them to us.

Under applicable data-protection law, we may process your personal data only for a lawful purpose and, in most cases, with your consent. When you register, we ask for your clear, informed consent to process your data for the purposes below. You can withdraw that consent at any time (see Your rights). Where the participant is under 18, that consent is given by their parent or guardian instead — see Children and minors.

• To register you and run the quiz — confirming eligibility, giving you access on your format's scheduled date (one format per day, 11–14 October 2026), and delivering the 2-hour, 100-question quiz across the 10 syllabus categories. This is necessary to provide the service you signed up and paid for.
• To process your payment and apply the correct pricing window and fee-back. Early Bird registrations (made by 2 September 2026, 11:59 PM IST) had their fee credited back to their Kashflow account as Koins — shown as Sikka in India — at the same value, kept whether or not they compete, and kept on cancellation. Registrations in the Standard window (3 September 2026 – 10 October 2026) do not include the fee-back.
• To produce results, rankings, and certificates — results are announced collectively on 15 October 2026, 12:00 PM IST, by email and on Instagram and LinkedIn, and a digital certificate is issued to every participant.
• To pay prizes — cash-prize winners are credited their prize as Koins or Sikka in their Kashflow account on 16 October 2026, and can spend it across Skollar and Kariant straight away. From 15 November 2026, 12:00 AM IST, once withdrawals are open, a winner can ask us to send what is left of that balance to their bank.
• To keep the competition fair and secure — fair-play monitoring inside the quiz page, anti-cheat checks, and fraud prevention. This is a legitimate purpose to protect every participant's interests.
• To support you and communicate essentials — confirmations, schedule reminders, result notifications, and answers to your questions.
• To meet legal and accounting obligations — for example, retaining transaction records for tax and audit purposes.

We will not use your data for a new, unrelated purpose without telling you and, where required, asking for fresh consent.

We use trusted third-party payment processors so that your card and banking credentials never touch our servers:

• Registering from India (on any format, Global included): registration fees in rupees (₹) via Razorpay.
• Registering from anywhere else: registration fees in USD via PayPal.

When you pay, you interact with the processor's secure checkout. They collect and store the sensitive payment details (card number, CVV, UPI PIN, net-banking credentials) under their own privacy policies and security standards (such as PCI-DSS). We receive only payment metadata — for example, that the payment succeeded, the amount, the currency, and a transaction reference — which we use to confirm your registration, to credit your fee-back, and to sort out a duplicate or mistaken charge.

If you later ask us to send part of your Kashflow balance to your bank, that payment is made through PayPal or an international bank transfer (outside India) or an NEFT/IMPS bank transfer (India). Please review the privacy policies of these processors for details on how they handle your information. We are not responsible for their independent practices, but we choose partners we consider reputable.

This is the complete list of the cookies and browser-storage technologies quiz.skollar.club actually uses. If it is not in this table, we do not run it.

Just as important is what we do not use on this site: no third-party analytics scripts of any kind (Google Analytics was removed from this site entirely), no session-recording or screen-capture analytics, no advertising pixels, no cross-site advertising cookies, and no tag-management container that could load other trackers. We chose not to run these tools on this site precisely because many participants are children and the live exam is on screen.

Your cookie choice is stored in your own browser. To change it, clear this site's stored data in your browser settings — the banner will ask you again on your next visit. Blocking essential cookies through your browser may stop you registering or sitting the quiz.

In short, we use your information only to deliver and protect the Skollar Quiz 2026:

• Create and manage your registration and account, per format.
• Verify eligibility (stage for Senior formats — undergraduate students to anyone up to age 30; grade for Junior formats) and region.
• Deliver the quiz, score it, and rank you within your format.
• Issue your digital certificate and, if you win, credit your prize to your Kashflow account.
• Detect and prevent cheating, fraud, and abuse, and keep the platform secure.
• Credit the Early Bird fee-back for registrations made by 2 September 2026, 11:59 PM IST (within the first 1,000 places per format), and handle a duplicate or mistaken charge if one happens.
• Handle a withdrawal request when you ask us to send part of your balance to your bank, from 15 November 2026, 12:00 AM IST onwards, once withdrawals are open.
• Respond to your support requests and send service messages you would expect to receive.
• Comply with our legal, tax, and accounting obligations.

One decision is automated, and it has a financial effect. While your question paper is open, the quiz page records fair-play events — leaving the quiz tab or exiting full screen. The first event produces an on-screen warning; on the second, software ends the attempt and marks it disqualified, with no person reviewing it at that moment. A disqualified attempt is not scored, is not ranked, receives no certificate, and is not eligible for a prize — which is why we disclose it here plainly. You have the right to have that decision reviewed by a person: send an appeal from our contact page (topic "Appeal a disqualification") or email quiz@skollar.club, and a member of our team reads the record of your session and can reinstate the attempt where the evidence supports you. The full mechanics are in the Terms of Service under "Automated Decisions & How to Get a Human to Look".

Scoring is also automatic — your answers are marked against the correct answers on our servers — but a scoring query is reviewed and corrected by a person. Every other decision that affects you (refusing a registration, withholding a prize, deciding a refund, acting on a deletion request) is taken by a person, not by software.

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with parties that help us run the competition, and only to the extent they need it:

• Payment processors — PayPal, Razorpay, and PayU, to take registration fees and, when you ask us to, to send money from your Kashflow account to your bank.
• Infrastructure and technology providers — cloud hosting, email delivery, and the analytics described under Cookies and similar technologies, who act as our processors under contract and may not use your data for their own purposes. The fair-play checks are our own — no outside monitoring service receives your exam session.
• Professional advisers — such as accountants or legal counsel, where reasonably needed.
• Authorities — when we are legally required to disclose information, or to protect rights, safety, or the integrity of the competition.

Your final rank is shown privately on your own result page — there is no public ranking list of all participants. The one exception is a prize winner who gave the optional publicity consent on My Consent: as part of announcing the results we may then publish that winner's name, format, rank, and prize, and nothing more. Without that consent, any announcement uses the masked display name only. A guardian can opt a participant under 18 out unconditionally at any time — the exact rules, and how opting out never affects the prize, are set out in the Terms of Service under "Announcing Winners: Name and Image".

The honest general rule is this: we keep your records for as long as your account exists, because your results, certificate, and Kashflow balance stay usable for as long as you keep them — and the moment you ask us to delete your data, a real deletion runs. We do not publish invented year-counts we could not prove; instead, here is exactly what happens to each kind of record when you ask for deletion:

• Deleted outright — your quiz profile and photo, your exam answer sheets, your practice history, your fair-play event records, your in-app notifications, and any launch-updates signup for your email address.
• Kept, with your identity removed — two records survive in a form that no longer names you. Your score is kept without your name or account, because ranks are relative: silently removing a score would re-rank every other participant in a paid competition. Your certificate record keeps existing but with your name and score removed, so that anyone you already shared the certificate link with sees that it was genuine and that the details were removed at the holder's request — rather than a dead link that looks like the certificate was faked.
• Kept because the law requires it, with personal details stripped — the payment record of your registration fee and any prize (the amount, currency, payment method, and its reference — with your name, email, and phone removed), for as long as tax and accounting law requires. Where the participant is under 18, the record of the guardian's consent is also kept — it is the only proof that a child's entry fee was taken with permission — but the child's own name, date of birth, and grade are removed from it.

Support communications are kept while needed to resolve your matter and for a short period afterwards, in case it reopens.

Deletion is permanent, so it does not happen the instant you ask: there is a 7-day change-of-mind window after a deletion request, described under Your rights over your data. Whenever some of your data must be kept under the rules above, we tell you exactly what and why, rather than staying silent about it.

We take reasonable security measures designed to protect your information, broadly aligned with the reasonable-security-practice requirements under applicable information-technology and data-security law, including:

• Encryption of data in transit (HTTPS) across the website.
• Access controls so that only people who need your data can reach it, and an internal log of the actions our team takes on a participant's record.
• Payments are handled by regulated payment partners on their own systems — your card number, CVV, UPI PIN, or bank login never reaches us, and we could not produce them if asked.
• Exam answer keys are never sent to your browser: the paper carries the questions and options only, and marking happens on our servers. There is nothing in the page to read the answers out of.
• Your rank is private to you — shown on your own result page, not on any public list — with the single prize-winner exception described under Who we share data with.
• Logging and monitoring to detect and respond to suspicious activity.

No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If we become aware of a personal-data breach that affects you, we will act promptly and notify you and the relevant authorities where the law requires. Please help us by keeping your login credentials confidential.

These are not aspirations — each right below is backed by a working process, and this section describes what actually happens when you use it.

• Access and portability — a copy of everything. You can ask for a complete copy of what we hold about you: your account details, registrations, exam sessions, results, certificates, practice history, fair-play records, guardian-consent records, prizes, payments, and Kashflow ledger — compiled into a single readable file, with dates in UTC. The file also lists exactly what we would keep if you asked us to delete your data, so it never misdescribes what we hold. A guardian can request it for a participant under 18.
• Correction. Ask us to fix information that is inaccurate, incomplete, or out of date — including the name on a certificate.
• Erasure — a real deletion, with a change-of-mind window. Because deletion is permanent, the process is deliberately careful. Your request is recorded, you receive a written confirmation by email, and there is a 7-day window during which you can cancel it. After those 7 days the deletion runs: what is deleted, what is kept without your identity, and what the law requires us to keep are exactly as set out under How long we keep your data. Three situations pause a deletion rather than refuse it — a quiz you are sitting right now, a prize that has not been settled, or a refund still being processed — because destroying a paid entry mid-exam, or losing the only record of someone we owe money to, would harm you. We tell you the reason, and the request proceeds once it is resolved.
• Withdraw consent at any time, as easily as you gave it. Withdrawing the consent the competition runs on works like an erasure request, with the same 7-day window, and may end your participation.
• Nominate another individual to exercise your rights in the event of death or incapacity, as provided under applicable law.
• Grievance redressal — raise a complaint with our grievance contact (below) and, if unresolved, with the competent statutory or regulatory authority.

The fastest route is Your data: sign in and you can download everything we hold about you as a single file, or ask us to delete it — and cancel that request any time inside the change-of-mind window.

For anything else, use our contact page — sign in first and choose the topic "Privacy and your personal data", and your request carries a reference you can follow — or email quiz@skollar.club from the address you registered with. We verify identity before acting on any request, because sending someone's data to the wrong person is itself a breach. Where the participant is under 18, the guardian may exercise every one of these rights on their behalf. We aim to acknowledge a request within a couple of working days and close it within 30 days; deletion additionally carries the 7-day change-of-mind window above. Exercising your rights is free, except where a request is manifestly unfounded or excessive.

The Junior formats — Skollar Global Junior Quiz 2026 and Skollar India Junior Quiz 2026 — are for school students in Class 8–12, many of whom are minors. Applicable law requires parental or guardian consent before a child's personal data is processed, requires us to be able to evidence that consent, and prohibits tracking, behavioural monitoring for advertising, or targeted ads directed at children.

How we take that consent. On the details step of the registration form we ask for the parent or guardian's full name and email address — which must be different from the participant's own — and the parent or guardian must tick a box confirming that they have read and accept our Terms of Service and this Privacy Policy on the participant's behalf, and that they agree to the registration, to the entry fee being paid, and to the participant's personal information being used to run the competition. We record that confirmation — the name and email address given, the exact wording accepted, the format, and the date and time — and keep it on our own systems, where it cannot be edited from the website afterwards. We refuse the payment for a Junior format, and for any participant whose date of birth shows they are under 18, until that record exists.

What that step does not do. We do not separately check that the person giving consent is the participant's parent or guardian, and we do not contact that email address to confirm it. If a registration was made for a minor without the guardian's knowledge, email us at quiz@skollar.club and we will cancel it and delete the data we are not required by law to keep.

• We do not use a minor's data for advertising, profiling, or behavioural tracking.
• We limit a minor's data to what is needed to run the quiz, issue results and certificates, and pay any prize (with guardian involvement).
• A parent or guardian may exercise the rights above on the child's behalf, including access, correction, and erasure.

The Senior formats have no minimum age — eligibility begins at undergraduate level — so they can include participants who are still under 18. The same parent or guardian consent applies to them, and payment is refused without it. Where we learn that a participant is a minor and no consent is on record, we may suspend the registration until it is given.

The Skollar Quiz 2026 serves participants around the world, so your data may be processed in countries other than your own. For example, a Global participant's payment is handled by PayPal, and our hosting and email providers may operate servers outside India.

When we transfer personal data across borders, we do so in line with applicable law (including any restrictions or conditions issued under any applicable data-protection framework) and take reasonable steps to ensure your data continues to be protected. By registering for an international format, you understand that your data will be processed in the locations needed to deliver the competition.

In line with applicable grievance-redressal requirements, you can raise any privacy concern, complaint, or rights request with our Grievance Officer:

For any request, including grievances, contact quiz@skollar.club and a member of the team will respond.

We aim to acknowledge and resolve grievances within 24 hours on working days, and never later than the timelines required by law. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may escalate to the competent statutory or regulatory authority.

This Privacy Policy is governed by applicable law. We align our practices with applicable statutes, rules, and regulations governing data protection, information technology, electronic records, and consumer rights, as may be in force and amended from time to time. We say "align with" deliberately — we do not claim any certification or formal compliance audit. Any disputes relating to this policy are subject to the jurisdiction of the competent courts in India, while we remain committed to serving and protecting our international participants.

We may update this Privacy Policy as the competition evolves or as the law changes. When we make a material change, we publish a new version number and effective date in the introduction above, update the "Last updated" stamp at the top, and, where appropriate, notify you.
