This Privacy Policy explains how the organizers of the Skollar Quiz 2026 handle the personal information you provide when you visit quiz.skollar.club, register for a quiz format, make a payment, sit the quiz, or contact us for support. It covers all four formats — the Skollar Global Quiz 2026, Skollar Global Junior Quiz 2026, Skollar India Quiz 2026, and Skollar India Junior Quiz 2026.
We have written this in plain language because a lot of our participants are students, and because we believe a privacy notice should actually be readable. Where we use a legal term, we explain what it means. If anything here is unclear, email us at quiz@skollar.club and we will explain it.
In this document, "we", "us", and "our" refer to the organizers of the Skollar Quiz 2026 ([Organizer Legal Name], currently completing formal incorporation). "You" refers to a participant, parent or guardian, or visitor to our website.
01What information we collect
We only collect what we genuinely need to run a fair, secure competition and pay out prizes. That includes:
- Identity & registration details — your name, email address, and, optionally, your phone number. Phone is not required to register, but it helps us reach you about your results or a prize disbursement.
- Eligibility information — your stage (for the Senior formats, anyone up to age 30) or your grade (for the Junior formats, Class 8–12), and your country or region. We use this to confirm you are eligible for the format you chose.
- Payment information — the registration fee you paid, the format and pricing window, the currency, and a transaction reference. Payments are processed entirely by our payment partners (PayPal for Global formats; Razorpay or PayU for India formats). We do not collect or store your full card number, CVV, UPI PIN, or bank login. Those are handled directly by the processor on their own secure systems.
- Prize-payout details — if you win, we will ask for the details needed to send your prize: PayPal account or international bank details for Global winners, or bank details (for NEFT/IMPS) for India winners. We collect these only when there is a prize to pay.
- Quiz activity — your answers to the 100 multiple-choice questions, your score, your completion time, your leaderboard position, and your digital certificate record.
- Proctoring & anti-cheat signals — because the quiz is proctored and anti-cheat monitored, we may record session integrity signals (for example, tab-switching events, timing anomalies, or other signals described to you before the quiz). This is to protect the fairness of the prize pool for every honest participant.
- Device & usage data — basic technical information such as your browser type, device type, approximate location derived from your IP address, and pages you visited. This helps us keep the site secure and working.
- Support communications — the content of emails or messages you send us at quiz@skollar.club, so we can help you.
We do not ask for sensitive categories of data such as caste, religion, health, or biometric identifiers, and you should not send them to us.
02Why we collect it, and our lawful basis
Under applicable data-protection law, we may process your personal data only for a lawful purpose and, in most cases, with your consent. When you register, we ask for your clear, informed consent to process your data for the purposes below. You can withdraw that consent at any time (see Your rights).
- To register you and run the quiz — confirming eligibility, giving you access on your format's scheduled date (one format per day, 10–13 August 2026), and delivering the 2-hour, 100-question quiz across the 10 syllabus categories. This is necessary to provide the service you signed up and paid for.
- To process your payment and apply the correct pricing window and refund eligibility (a 100% guaranteed refund if you registered by 23 June 2026; non-refundable after that date).
- To produce results, leaderboards, and certificates — results are announced collectively on 15 August 2026 (India's Independence Day), and a digital certificate is issued to every participant.
- To pay prizes — disbursed within about 30 days to eligible winners.
- To keep the competition fair and secure — proctoring, anti-cheat checks, and fraud prevention. This is a legitimate purpose to protect every participant's interests.
- To support you and communicate essentials — confirmations, schedule reminders, result notifications, and answers to your questions.
- To meet legal and accounting obligations — for example, retaining transaction records for tax and audit purposes.
We will not use your data for a new, unrelated purpose without telling you and, where required, asking for fresh consent.
03Payment data and our payment partners
We use trusted third-party payment processors so that your card and banking credentials never touch our servers:
- Global formats: registration fees in USD via PayPal.
- India formats: registration fees in INR via Razorpay or PayU.
When you pay, you interact with the processor's secure checkout. They collect and store the sensitive payment details (card number, CVV, UPI PIN, net-banking credentials) under their own privacy policies and security standards (such as PCI-DSS). We receive only payment metadata — for example, that the payment succeeded, the amount, the currency, and a transaction reference — which we use to confirm your registration and to handle any refund.
Prize payouts are likewise made through PayPal or international bank transfer (Global) and NEFT/IMPS bank transfer (India). Please review the privacy policies of these processors for details on how they handle your information. We are not responsible for their independent practices, but we choose partners we consider reputable.
05How we use your information
In short, we use your information only to deliver and protect the Skollar Quiz 2026:
- Create and manage your registration and account, per format.
- Verify eligibility (age for main formats, grade for Junior formats) and region.
- Deliver the quiz, score it, and rank you on your format's leaderboard.
- Issue your digital certificate and, if you win, disburse your prize.
- Detect and prevent cheating, fraud, and abuse, and keep the platform secure.
- Process refunds in line with the applicable pricing window (100% guaranteed refund for registrations by 23 June 2026; non-refundable thereafter).
- Respond to your support requests and send service messages you would expect to receive.
- Comply with our legal, tax, and accounting obligations.
We do not make automated decisions that produce legal effects on you without human oversight, beyond the objective scoring of your quiz answers and routine eligibility checks.
07How long we keep your data
We keep personal data only for as long as we need it for the purposes above, and then delete or anonymize it. As general guidance:
- Registration and quiz records — kept for the duration of the competition and a reasonable period afterwards to handle results queries, certificate re-issues, and disputes.
- Payment and prize records — kept longer where law requires, for tax, audit, and financial-record-keeping obligations.
- Support communications — kept while needed to resolve your matter and for a short period afterwards.
When you withdraw consent or ask for erasure, we will delete your data unless we are legally required to keep some of it (for example, payment records). We will tell you if that applies.
08How we protect your data
We take reasonable security measures designed to protect your information, broadly aligned with the reasonable-security-practice requirements under applicable information-technology and data-security law, including:
- Encryption of data in transit (HTTPS) across the website.
- Access controls so that only people who need your data can reach it.
- Outsourcing sensitive payment handling to PCI-DSS-aligned processors, so we never hold your full card details.
- Logging and monitoring to detect and respond to suspicious activity.
No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If we become aware of a personal-data breach that affects you, we will act promptly and notify you and the relevant authorities where the law requires. Please help us by keeping your login credentials confidential.
09Your rights over your data
Subject to applicable law, you have the right to:
- Access a summary of the personal data we hold about you and how we process it.
- Correct or update information that is inaccurate, incomplete, or out of date.
- Erase your personal data where it is no longer needed and we are not legally required to keep it.
- Withdraw consent at any time, as easily as you gave it (note this may end your participation if it is given after registration).
- Nominate another individual to exercise your rights in the event of death or incapacity, as provided under applicable law.
- Grievance redressal — raise a complaint with our Grievance Officer (below) and, if unresolved, with the competent statutory or regulatory authority.
To exercise any of these rights, email quiz@skollar.club from the address you registered with, or use our contact page. We will verify your identity before acting on a request and respond within a reasonable time. Exercising your rights is free, except where a request is manifestly unfounded or excessive.
10Children and minors (Junior formats)
The Junior formats — Skollar Global Junior Quiz 2026 and Skollar India Junior Quiz 2026 — are for school students in Class 8–12, many of whom are minors. Applicable law requires verifiable parental or guardian consent before processing a child's personal data, and it prohibits tracking, behavioural monitoring for advertising, or targeted ads directed at children. We follow these rules:
- A parent or legal guardian must consent to a minor's registration and data processing.
- We do not use a minor's data for advertising, profiling, or behavioural tracking.
- We limit a minor's data to what is needed to run the quiz, issue results and certificates, and pay any prize (with guardian involvement).
- A parent or guardian may exercise the rights above on the child's behalf, including access, correction, and erasure.
The Senior formats (anyone up to age 30) are intended for older students and adults. If we learn that a child has registered for a main format without proper consent, we will take appropriate steps, which may include suspending the registration.
11International data transfers
The Skollar Quiz 2026 serves participants around the world, so your data may be processed in countries other than your own. For example, a Global participant's payment is handled by PayPal, and our hosting and email providers may operate servers outside India.
When we transfer personal data across borders, we do so in line with applicable law (including any restrictions or conditions issued under any applicable data-protection framework) and take reasonable steps to ensure your data continues to be protected. By registering for an international format, you understand that your data will be processed in the locations needed to deliver the competition.
