This document is a working draft published for transparency while the organizing entity completes formal incorporation. It will be finalized with legal counsel before the competition opens for paid registration. Questions? Email quiz@skollar.club.
This Refund & Cancellation Policy explains exactly what happens to your registration fee for the Skollar Quiz 2026 if you change your mind, if a payment goes wrong, or if we have to cancel or reschedule the competition. It applies to all four formats — the Skollar Global Quiz 2026, Skollar Global Junior Quiz 2026, Skollar India Quiz 2026, and Skollar India Junior Quiz 2026 — each of which is registered, scored, and rewarded separately.
We have written this to be fair and easy to understand. Where it uses formal terms, those terms have the same meaning as in our Terms of Service. If anything here is unclear, please reach out before you pay — we would much rather answer a question than process a refund.
01Overview
Your registration fee secures your seat in a specific Skollar Quiz 2026 format. How much of that fee is refundable depends on which registration window you registered in — Early Bird or Standard — and on the conditions described below.
The core rules in one place:
- Early Bird — register by 23 June 2026 and you get a 100% guaranteed refund of your registration fee — whether you win a prize or not, where the eligibility conditions in this policy are met.
- Standard — register from 24 June 2026 to 31 July 2026; non-refundable.
Refunds are always made to the original payment method, in the original currency, after deducting any non-recoverable processor fees only where this policy permits. The prize pool is entirely separate from registration fees — refund eligibility never affects prizes, and prizes are never funded by refunds.
02The Two Registration Windows
Registration opens in two windows, and the price rises after the early window closes. The window you see and pay at checkout is the window your refund rights are based on — it is recorded on your registration receipt. The last date to register, across all formats, is 31 July 2026. Each format has its own prize pool.
- Early Bird window — register by 23 June 2026 at the lower fee, offered as a thank-you to people who commit early. Carries the strongest protection: the 100% guaranteed refund described below.
- Standard window — 24 June 2026 to 31 July 2026, at the higher fee. Because seats, proctoring slots, and operational capacity are committed once the early window closes, Standard fees are non-refundable.
We do not retroactively change your window. If you registered as Early Bird, your Early Bird refund rights stay with you even after that window has closed for new entrants.
03Early Bird — Effectively Free (100% Guaranteed Refund)
The Early Bird 100% guaranteed refund means that if you register by 23 June 2026, your full registration fee is refunded automatically — regardless of whether you cancel, whether you take the quiz, or whether you win a prize. In other words, early-bird participation is effectively free, and you do not need to request it.
When you are refunded. Refunds are processed within 60 days of the results announcement (15 August 2026) — i.e. by approximately mid-October 2026 — to your original payment method, in the original currency.
The only conditions are:
- You registered and paid during the Early Bird window (by 23 June 2026) for your format; and
- the original payment was completed in full and was not itself reversed, disputed, or charged back.
How the refund is paid. The guarantee returns your original fee in full, in the original currency, to the original payment method. Where the payment processor charges non-recoverable transaction fees, any unavoidable, processor-imposed deduction will be disclosed to you. The exact terms are set out in your registration confirmation and our Terms of Service; where this policy and those terms differ, the more specific written term controls.
You do not have to win — or even complete the quiz — to get your Early Bird fee back. After 23 June 2026, registrations move to the Standard window, which is non-refundable.
04Standard — Non-Refundable
Registrations made during the Standard window (24 June 2026 to 31 July 2026) are non-refundable. By the time the early window closes, we have committed operational resources — proctoring capacity, question delivery infrastructure, and scheduling — and those costs cannot be recovered. If you want the 100% guaranteed refund, register by 23 June 2026 in the Early Bird window.
The only exceptions to the non-refundable rule are the situations covered elsewhere in this policy that are not your fault, specifically:
- a duplicate or failed-but-charged payment (see Payment Failures & Duplicate Charges); and
- cancellation or rescheduling by the organizer (see Cancellation by Participant vs. by Organizer), which entitles you to a full refund regardless of the window you registered in.
We clearly label the Standard (non-refundable) window at checkout so you can make an informed choice before paying.
05How to Request a Refund & Timelines
To request a refund, email us with enough detail to find your registration quickly:
- Send your request to quiz@skollar.club (or use our contact page).
- Include the email used to register, the format you registered for, your payment reference or order ID, and a one-line reason (optional, but it helps us improve).
Request cut-off. Refund requests must be received before the cut-off published for your format. As a clear baseline, an eligible Early Bird refund request must be made before your format's quiz starts — the quizzes run on 10–13 August 2026 (one format per day) — and before you have begun the quiz. The exact, format-specific cut-off appears in your registration confirmation.
Our processing timeline. We aim to review your request and confirm eligibility within 5 business days. Once approved, we initiate the refund within 7–10 business days.
When the money lands. After we initiate a refund, the time for it to appear in your account is controlled by the payment processor and your bank — typically 5–10 business days for cards and wallets, sometimes longer for international transfers. We will give you a confirmation/refund reference once it is sent.
06Cancellation by Participant vs. by Organizer
If you cancel. A voluntary cancellation by a participant is treated under the registration-window rules above: Early Bird (registered by 23 June 2026) = 100% guaranteed refund (conditions apply, whether you win or not), Standard = non-refundable. Cancelling your registration does not by itself remove you from communications about the event unless you ask us to.
If we cancel or reschedule. If the organizer cancels the Skollar Quiz 2026, or a specific format, you are entitled to a full (100%) refund of your registration fee — regardless of which registration window you registered in, including the Standard (otherwise non-refundable) window.
If the organizer reschedules a quiz (for example, moves the date), you may choose either to:
- keep your registration for the new date at no extra cost; or
- request a full refund of your registration fee if the new date does not work for you.
In an organizer-initiated cancellation or reschedule, we will notify registered participants by email and process eligible refunds proactively where we can.
07Payment Failures & Duplicate Charges
Sometimes a payment is charged but the registration does not complete, or you are accidentally charged more than once. These are not refusals of service — they are errors, and we fix them.
- Charged but not registered. If money left your account but you did not receive a registration confirmation, contact us with the payment reference. We will verify with the processor and either complete your registration or refund the charge in full.
- Duplicate charge. If you were charged more than once for the same registration, the extra charge(s) will be refunded in full, in the original currency, to the original payment method. Duplicate-charge refunds are not subject to the pricing-window rules — you should never pay twice for one seat.
- Pending or declined payments. A payment that was declined or never settled is not a charge to you and needs no refund; if a temporary authorization hold appears, it is typically released by your bank within a few business days.
08Currency & Payment Method
Refunds are issued in the same currency and to the same method you used to pay. We do not refund to a different card, account, or currency, because doing so introduces conversion risk and fraud risk for both of us.
- Global formats (Skollar Global Quiz 2026 and Skollar Global Junior Quiz 2026) are paid in USD via PayPal; refunds are returned through PayPal.
- India formats (Skollar India Quiz 2026 and Skollar India Junior Quiz 2026) are paid in INR via Razorpay / PayU; refunds are returned through the same Indian processor.
We do not store your full card details — payment is handled by the processor, and refunds are routed back through them. Currency-conversion differences, foreign-transaction fees, or exchange-rate movements applied by your bank or card network are outside our control and are not reimbursable by us.
09Prizes Are Separate from Refunds
Prizes and registration fees are completely separate. Winning a cash prize does not change your refund rights, and requesting a refund does not affect anyone's prize. Refunds are never funded from the prize pool.
- Results are announced collectively on 15 August 2026 (India's Independence Day).
- Cash prizes are disbursed within approximately 30 days of results, subject to winner verification and any applicable tax or compliance requirements.
- Prize payout method: Global winners are paid via PayPal or international bank transfer; India winners are paid via NEFT / IMPS bank transfer.
- Every participant who completes a quiz receives a digital certificate regardless of placement; certificates are not refundable items because they carry no separate fee.
A prize is a reward for performance, not a return of your fee — so a participant cannot both keep a prize for a given format and obtain a refund of the registration fee that entered them into that same format.
10No-Show Policy
If you register but do not attend or do not start the quiz on your format's scheduled day — the quizzes run on 10–13 August 2026 (one format per day) — your outcome depends on your registration window and on whether you requested a refund in time:
- Early Bird (registered by 23 June 2026): if you submit an eligible refund request before the cut-off and before your quiz begins, the 100% guaranteed refund applies — even if you then do not show up.
- No request, no-show: if you simply do not attend and did not request a refund within the eligible window, the registration fee is treated as used and is not refunded.
- Standard no-show: non-refundable, consistent with the Standard window.
If you miss the quiz for a genuine emergency or for a technical reason on our side, contact us — we review such cases individually and in good faith. Technical issues caused by the organizer are handled under organizer cancellation/reschedule or as a full refund where appropriate.
11Chargebacks
If something has gone wrong, please contact us first at quiz@skollar.club. We will almost always resolve a genuine issue faster than a bank dispute can, and we want the chance to make it right.
Filing a chargeback or payment dispute with your bank or card network instead of contacting us can have consequences:
- The disputed registration may be suspended or cancelled while the dispute is open, which can affect your seat or your eligibility for that format.
- If a chargeback is filed after a refund has already been issued for the same payment, we may dispute the duplicate recovery with evidence to avoid paying twice.
- A chargeback that is later found to be unwarranted may make the account ineligible for the 100% guaranteed Early Bird refund on that payment, since that guarantee assumes the original payment stands.
None of this is meant to discourage you from raising a real problem — it is meant to make sure honest participants are protected and that disputes are resolved fairly for everyone.
12Your Consumer Rights & Jurisdiction
This policy is intended to be fair and to operate alongside, not instead of, your legal rights. The Skollar Quiz 2026 is organized from India and governed by the laws of India, with courts at [City], India having jurisdiction; we welcome international participants and apply this policy consistently to all of them.
We aim to align with the consumer-protection expectations of the Consumer Protection Act, 2019, including fair dealing and transparent terms. Where any mandatory consumer-protection law that applies to you gives you stronger rights than this policy, those rights are not reduced by anything written here.
Personal data handled in connection with a refund (such as payment metadata) is processed in line with our privacy practices and our stated aim to align with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the Information Technology Act, 2000 and its SPDI Rules, 2011. We do not claim any formal certification.
